The Safety & Technology Committee explores innovative technologies and practices to enhance safety on county roadways. They assess emerging safety technologies such as intelligent transportation systems, vehicle-to-infrastructure communication, and advanced driver assistance systems, along with proven safety technologies/systems, aiming to integrate these solutions into county engineering practices to reduce crashes and improve traffic flow.
The average time commitment for individuals volunteering on this committee is approximately an hour a month. Members of this committee also work on a conference subcommittee to help develop the sessions and contact speakers with an average of 3-5 hours of volunteer commitment time ramping up to the Annual Conference.
