Nominations for 2024 will open in the 4th Quarter 2024

This award is presented annually to recognize a NACE member county project or program manager working below the county engineer or agency head management level for outstanding service and meritorious achievement in or for a county in managing a construction project or pavement, safety, operations, bridge, or other program. Eligible nominees could include supervisors, foremen, or engineers who manage the program.

Each state may submit one or more nominations for the award. The state’s nominee(s) should be submitted by the President of the State organization to the Chair of the Awards Committee. If there is no State organization, then a NACE voting member within the State can submit the nomination(s) for the award to the Chair of the Awards Committee.

This award has been established to recognize significant meritorious work by an individual on a project or program for a county who has demonstrated a commitment to the profession and shows potential for future growth. The specific project or program must have been completed if a project, or substantially underway if a program, by the end of the year for which the award was submitted.  Any project nominations should be for completed projects in 2023.  For a program nomination, it should have been implemented and substantially under way in 2023.   

Requested as a part of the submission is a specific discussion on the actual project or program, its significance, and importance, and the individual’s performance to complete the project or program on time and within budget. Additional information, other than that shown below, may be submitted for consideration.

1. Discussion on the actual project or program, including the involvement of the project/program manager

2. The significance and importance of the project or program to the community

3. The nominee’s performance to complete the project or program on time and within budget

4. Discussion of any innovative methods used to keep the public informed of the progress of the project or program
